Job Details:
General NotesThis position is for a full-time Research Associate to assist with and conduct lab-based research in the Champagne Lab in SEA. Duties will include conducting benchwork laboratory procedures involving extraction and QC analyses of DNA/RNA, assisting with molecular hormonal and neurobiological analyses, lab organization, ordering supplies and maintaining lab safety protocols. Applicant must have good communication skills and be able to work diligently and independently.
This is a one-year fixed term position with the chance to renew based on performance and/or research goals.

Responsibilities- Wet lab work (tissue extraction, DNA/RNA extraction, histology)
- Lab/personnel management (compliance, training, ordering supplies)
- Project coordination
- Master's degree plus at least 2 years of wet lab research experience in behavioral neuroscience or a related field
- Experience with tissue dissection and rodent brain anatomy
- Molecular lab experience (RNA/DNA extraction)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications- Skilled in use of R
- Lab management experience
- Experience working with laboratory rodents
$40,000 - $50,000 depending upon experience
Working Conditions- Lifting and moving

- May work in all weather conditions
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment required (furnished)
