Develops new laboratory methods for the acquisition and interpretation of magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements of porous rocks. Experience in experimental physics or similar field and experience with electronics, machine shop tools, designing and building experiments. Will provide assistance and guidance to several graduate and undergraduate students carrying out laboratory experiments.
Responsibilities- Perform research in nuclear magnetic resonance at the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering.
- Research on nuclear magnetic resonance and novel NMR inversion algorithms.
- Research on NMR pulse sequencing and data acquisition software.
- Research on atomic, molecular, and optical physics.
- Research on NMR measurement interpretations found in spatially heterogeneous rocks.
- Ph.D. in Physics received within the last three years.
- Programming experience with Fortran, MATLAB and C++.
- One year of post-doctoral experience.
- PhD in experimental physics or similar field.
- Experience with electronics, machine shop tools, designing and building experiments.
- Experience in teaching and/or research.
$60,000+ depending on qualifications

Flexible between 7am - 6pm
