Job Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and reliable Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting quality assurance activities by inspecting products, collecting data, and verifying that manufacturing processes meet established quality standards. This role works closely with production and engineering teams to maintain product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control & Assurance Perform quality checks according to established procedures and control plans to ensure products meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Inspection & Testing Conduct incoming, in‑process, and final inspections on products, materials, and processes using measurement and test equipment to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Root Cause Support Assist in investigating product failures, non‑conformance issues, and customer complaints by collecting data, documenting findings, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Process Support Work with engineering and production teams to identify defects, contain non‑conforming material, and help implement improvements to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Documentation Record and maintain accurate inspection reports, test results, and quality records to ensure proper documentation of quality‑related activities.
  • Compliance Verify adherence to company procedures, industry regulations, and customer requirements (e.g., ISO standards, work instructions, specifications).
  • Training Support Assist in training operators on inspection methods, quality checks, and proper documentation procedures as needed.
  • Audit Support Support internal and external quality audits by preparing records, organizing documentation, and verifying process compliance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required (Associate degree or technical certification preferred)
  • Experience in manufacturing, inspection, or quality environment preferred
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Basic understanding of quality standards (ISO 9001 or similar)
  • Experience using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS)
  • Knowledge of basic root cause analysis methods (5 Why, Fishbone)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Exposure to SPC or data collection systems
  • Experience with ERP or quality software systems
Certifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt
  • Internal Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or similar)
  • GD&T training or certification
Compensation
  • Salary:
    Up to $85,000 per year (DOE)
Work Environment
  • Combination of manufacturing floor and office environment
  • Requires standing, walking, and performing hands‑on inspections
  • This position is based at our headquarters in Austin, Texas. Candidates must currently reside in the greater Austin area
