Principal Quality Assurance Engineer

Sky Grid, a Boeing Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, Sky Grid builds ground-based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. Sky Grid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services.

The Sky Grid team is looking for a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer, who will manage system, software and hardware quality assurance for all Sky Grid products. This position reports to the Director of Assurance and ensures that company operating standards and the product/program meet quality assurance standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in system, software, hardware quality assurance processes, as well as corporate quality assurance and is familiar with Quality Management System (QMS) associated standards such as AS9100 or ISO
9001. You will be the principal owner of the processes, operating procedures, work instructions, enforcement for all things quality assurance, and be a representative to the regulators. You will work closely with Engineering and Program organizations to define processes, methods, and enforce compliance.

• Develop QMS streamlining with SMS and SecMS within the first year.
• Ensure compliance at the product/program level per planning document.
• Manage teams and ensure staffing needs are identified.
