Veterinary Student Externship – Southwest Vet
Austin, TX | Fear Free Focus | Up to $2,000 Travel Stipend
Are you looking for a dynamic externship that combines high-quality medicine, compassionate care, and a team-first mentality? Southwest Vet in Austin, TX, is a fast-paced general practice that specializes in a Fear Free approach—creating a low-stress environment for both pets and people.
Our team prioritizes positivity, mentorship, and collaboration. As an extern, you'll be an integral part of daily patient care while gaining confidence in clinical and communication skills.
What You’ll Experience
- Shadow and assist with exams, diagnostics, treatment plans, dentistry, and surgeries
- Develop communication skills with clients, technicians, and DVMs
Program Details
Externship length: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks, flexible to fit your academic schedule
Open to: veterinary students; clinical-year students qualify for stipend
Travel/Living Stipend:
Up to $2,000 available for clinical students
