Thank you for your interest in ATX Animal Clinic! I'm Dr. Rob Pieratt, and have had the clinic for a little over 7 years now. We're located in the quiet, safe Northwest Hills neighborhood of Austin, Texas at the intersection of Mesa Drive and Spicewood Springs Road, 10 minutes north of downtown Austin.
OverviewRole
Description:
This is for a part or full-time veterinarian position; a part-time or relief hire could even develop into a full time position if interested, we can see over time. Ideally, we would be looking to bring someone on by the end of March, beginning of May, as my current associate vet will be leaving at that time. You would need to be comfortable diagnosing and treating medical conditions in small animals, possibly performing soft tissue surgeries, conducting wellness checks, and providing preventative care.
The role also involves consulting with pet owners to provide education on treatments, vaccinations, and overall animal health. Teamwork, compassion, and a strong commitment to animal care are essential in this position, and we all aim to build up and support each other!
Role responsibilities are described above in the Overview.
Qualifications- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating illnesses, and providing preventative care for small animals.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and educating pet owners about animal health and treatment plans.
- Strong ability to follow clinic protocols and maintain medical records.
- Compassion, patience, and a passion for animal health and welfare.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution and a valid veterinary license to practice in Texas.
- Prior experience as a veterinarian in a small animal clinic is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency with veterinary software and technology is beneficial; we use IDEXX Neo, which is very easy and intuitive!
- Commitment to staying updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education.
- Completely negotiable! It really depends on whether you would be full, part-time or relief, as well as whether or not you are comfortable performing soft tissue surgeries/dentals, which if not, is definitely not a deal-breaker. All specialized procedures are either performed by MVS or referred out, so no worries about orthopedics! I'm a very flexible person, I like to work with people's schedules and completely understand work-life balance, especially for parents;
I'm a parent to three kiddos myself! So let's talk! Reach out to or and we can go from there.
Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to meeting you!
