About Eye Care for Animals Far West (ECFA)ECFA is a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner and seeks a Veterinary Technician to join our community. As a hospital deeply rooted in the local area, you will benefit from Thrive’s national resources while maintaining a genuine local feel.
Role OverviewThe Veterinary Technician is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to customer service and patient care, including animal handling, pre- and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options, accurately entering service charges into the client database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications.
Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on care throughout patients’ journeys, from outpatient treatments to surgery assistance.
- Perform laboratory tests, IV catheter placement, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
- Monitor anesthesia and operate various monitoring equipment.
- Assist with admitting and discharging patients.
- Handle customer interactions and present financial options.
- Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required.
- Licensed Technician preferred but not required.
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
- Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and using monitoring equipment.
- Team player, self‑motivated, and eager to learn.
- Enjoys a challenging, fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills (email, file management, typing, etc.).
- Ability to multi‑task with a positive attitude.

Hourly pay starts at $20–$25 for non‑licensed techs and $25–$30 for licensed techs. The actual rate offered will consider your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
