About YouThe Lead Veterinary Technician plays a critical leadership role in the day‑to‑day operations of the hospital. This position supports both the medical and client service teams, ensures high standards of patient care, and contributes to a positive, efficient, and collaborative work environment. The Lead Veterinary Technician will report to the Practice Manager (PM).
Role Responsibilities- Foster a positive and professional team culture
- Supervise and support technician and CSR teams
- Train and mentor staff in patient care and client service
- Enforce and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Creating and manage staff schedules
- Conduct DEA auditing and maintain compliance
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and troubleshoot repairs
- Learn hospital P& x2019;
L concepts to assist with inventory management, ordering, labor costs, and budget awareness - Support marketing initiatives and promotions
- Hire, onboard, and train new hires in all areas of patient care and anesthetic monitoring
- Conduct staff evaluations, including mid‑year and annual performance reviews
- TTP planning
- Assist with performance management
- Other duties as assigned
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
- Ability to frequently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be willing to work long hours in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment while maintaining composure
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach frequently during shifts lasting a minimum of 8 hours
- Veterinary technician licensure preferred
- 1–2 years of clinical experience
- Must have surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience
