Thrive Austin East 7th is looking for a Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. The Lead Veterinary Technician plays a critical leadership role in the day‑to‑day operations of the hospital. This position supports both the medical and client service teams, ensures high standards of patient care, and contributes to a positive, efficient, and collaborative work environment. The Lead Veterinary Technician will report to the Practice Manager (PM).

• Foster a positive and professional team culture
• Supervise and support technician and CSR teams
• Train and mentor staff in patient care and client service
• Enforce and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Creating and manage staff schedules
• Conduct DEA auditing and maintain compliance
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and troubleshoot repairs
• Learn hospital P& x2019;
  
  L concepts to assist with inventory management, ordering, labor costs, and budget awareness
• Support marketing initiatives and promotions
• Hire, onboard, and train new hires in all areas of patient care and anesthetic monitoring
• Conduct staff evaluations, including mid‑year and annual performance reviews
• TTP planning
• Assist with performance management
• Other duties as assigned

• Regular and reliable attendance is required
• Ability to frequently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be willing to work long hours in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment while maintaining composure
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach frequently during shifts lasting a minimum of 8 hours

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred
• 1–2 years of clinical experience
• Must have surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience
