Veterinary Criticalist

Join Thrive Pet Healthcare as a Veterinary Criticalist in the Pet Specialist team in Austin. This role supports Board Certified Veterinarians across multiple specialties—including Critical Care, Oncology, Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and a 24/7 Emergency Department—providing access to cutting‑edge technology and a collaborative care model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide critical care expertise to complex patient cases across all specialties.
  • Collaborate with veterinary surgeons, internists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Participate in patient assessments, diagnostic imaging interpretation, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Engage in continuing education, mentorship, and research activities.
  • Assist in training and supporting staff to maintain high standards of teamwork and patient care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
  • State Veterinary Board License in good standing.
  • Active DEA license or DEA license eligibility.
  • Board Certified Veterinary Criticalist or residency‑trained veterinarian.
