Position: ADMISSIONS RN-PRN

Responsibilities

  • Responds to incoming calls to the hospital to coordinate referrals/admissions
  • Assess patients' psychiatric and medical status
  • Ensure inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented in the computer system
  • Ensure referral patient medical record information is completed and staff apprised of the patients condition/history
  • Prepare referral materials in unit charts
  • Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations
  • Provide leadership and direction to mental health technicians
  • Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team
  • Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by Physician
Qualifications
  • Education
    :

    Required:

    Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN
  • Licensure / Certification
    :
    Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
  • Experience
    :
    One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
