Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral – Day Shift

Join Texas Neuro Rehab Center as a Registered Nurse on our Behavioral unit. This full‑time role offers 36 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient day shift schedule. Overtime and coverage of other shifts is available.

Texas Neuro Rehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. Originally a cattle ranch, the facility has operated as a medical rehabilitation and behavioral healthcare center for over 80 years. It provides complex medical and brain and spinal cord injury rehab for ages 13 and older and neuro‑psychiatric treatment for youth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop nursing interventions for patients.
  • Implement milieu management and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Administer medication accurately and monitor side‑effects.
  • Document patient care in the medical record.
  • Lead and supervise subordinates as needed.
Qualifications
  • College graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current Texas Registered Nurse license; CPR certification.
  • Current driver’s license or state‑issued .
  • One year of inpatient medical surgery or medical rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions; knowledge of milieu management; ability to administer medication and monitor side‑effects.
  • Physical ability to sustain activity on feet, lift 50 lbs, transfer patients, and de‑escalate crisis situations.
