Responsibilities
- Admissions Registered Nurse (RN):
Responds to incoming calls to the hospital to coordinate referrals/admissions; provides assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status; ensures all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system; notes regarding referrals and upcoming admissions are documented on proper forms; ensures referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are adequately apprised of the patient s condition/history;
ensures referral material is copied/distributed and prepared in unit charts as required; assesses, directs and intervenes in crisis situations; provides leadership and direction to mental health technicians; contributes to the treatment plan as a member of the interdisciplinary team; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician. - To contribute to treatment plans as a member of interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Education
:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN - Licensure / Certification
:
Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date. - Experience
:
One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
