Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in Texas requiring a compact or TX RN license and advanced certifications.

Job Details

• Work in an 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a 2:1 patient ratio,

• Float to a 6-bed Intermediate Care (IMC) unit with a 3:1 ratio as needed,

• Patient population includes medical, cardiac, sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, withdrawal, GI bleeds, suicide, COPD, pancreatitis, respiratory failure, and critical care interventions such as vents, bipaps, trachs, and CRRT,

• Uses Voalte phones for communication across the multidisciplinary team,

• Critical Care Physicians are not in-house 24/7 but are available by phone and conduct daily rounds,

• Night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15,

Job Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required,

• Minimum of one year of ICU experience required,

• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required,

• Nursys verification and current license documentation required within 30 days prior to start,

• Ability to interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, lab results, ABGs, and hemodynamic data,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive evidence-based care to critically ill adult patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions,

• Manage emergency situations including codes and rapid patient deterioration,

• Work collaboratively in a nurse-driven open ICU/IMC environment with physician support as needed,

• Local candidates are accepted but may receive a reduced rate depending on facility radius requirements,

• COVID vaccination is not required,
