Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our team! This position will support the Central Austin location (6204 Balcones Austin, Texas 78731).
This is a full-time Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

This position can be a level 1, 2 or Sr based on relevant candidate experience.

What

does the LVN/LPN do? (including but not limited to)

Under general supervision, provides general nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Promote efficient patient flow, assists with patient care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provides general nursing care to patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during examination and procedures.
  • Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • Administers prescribed medications as directed.
  • Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
  • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height,…
