Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) – South Austin, TX

Full‑time position, Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00, no weekends, calls, or major holidays. Level 1, 2, or Sr based on experience.

Job Summary

Support the Medical Oncology department by providing professional nursing care, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and participating in quality initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients and families.
  • Provide teaching and instructional material and psychosocial support.
  • Manage medication refill requests, schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information.
  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in locating community resources.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • RN state license and active registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.
  • For Level 2: 3-5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
  • For Level Sr: 5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to oncology clinics. Requires handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
