Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Trauma – St. David's South Austin Medical Center
Join the team of dedicated nurses who serve 31.2 million patient interactions a year 's South Austin Medical Center, a 368‑bed acute care facility recognized for its advanced trauma, cardiac, oncology, and surgical services. This opportunity allows you to deliver high‑quality care and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
Job Summary- Obtain patient assessments and create individualized plans of care.
- Revise nursing plans based on patient response and evaluate effectiveness.
- Collaborate with physicians and allied health staff to deliver safe, accurate treatment.
- Administer medications and conduct procedures according to hospital policy.
- Delegate tasks to non‑licensed staff while maintaining professional standards.
- Provide pre‑ and postoperative patient care.
- Educate patients and families on treatments, self‑management, and discharge planning.
- Facilitate discharge plans in coordination with the care team.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year in a clinical nursing role as an RN.
- Experience in an acute care setting – preferred.
- Education:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- License and
Certifications:- Texas Registered Nurse license or Compact RN license (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – preferred.
