Clinic RN – The US Oncology Network

4101 James Casey St #100, Austin, Texas 78745. Full‑time Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5:00 pm. This position can be a Level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience. No weekends, on‑call or major holidays.

Texas Oncology, the largest community oncology provider in the country, is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Medical Oncology department at the South Austin location. The RN will provide professional nursing care that adheres to national and company standards, meet the needs of patients and families, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary, reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review, and are subject to continued employment through the award payment date.

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.
  • As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
• Interprofessional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants.

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 0–3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.

• 3–5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.

• Five years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
