Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) PRN

• Responds to incoming calls to the hospital to accommodate coordination for referrals/admissions.
• Provides assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.
• Ensures all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system and notes regarding referrals and upcoming admissions are documented on proper forms.
• Ensures all referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are adequately apprised of the patient's condition/history.
• Copies/distributes referral material and prepares it in unit charts as required.
• Assesses, directs and intervenes in crisis situations.
• Provides leadership and direction to mental health technicians.
• Contributes to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by Physician.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
• Experience: One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
