Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) PRN – key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities- Responds to incoming calls to the hospital to accommodate coordination for referrals/admissions.
- Provides assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.
- Ensures all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system and that notes regarding referrals and upcoming admissions are documented on proper forms.
- Ensures all referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are adequately apprised of the patient's condition/history.
- Ensures referral material is copied/distributed and prepared in unit charts as required.
- Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
- Provides leadership and direction to mental health technicians.
- Contributes to the treatment plan as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN.
Current Texas State Registered Nurse License;
Current CPR or BLS certification;
Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
