Licensed Vocational Nurse – LVN/LPN

Our local office is looking for a team of compassionate nurses to provide care for a very special client/patient. Here are some of the details of this case; more can be discussed by applying or contacting the local office.

Schedule: 4-5 shifts (Monday through Friday, 8AM to 6PM)

Location/Setting: South Austin, 78744

Age Range: Adult Patient

Acuity: Feeding Tube & Med Administration

Qualifications
  • Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state in which the clinician will practice.
  • Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days.
  • Current CPR certification (hands‑on component);
    Aveanna can assist in obtaining this after hire if necessary.
  • TB skin test current within last 12 months.
  • Six months prior hands‑on nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the delivery and coordination of quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, and report changes to supervisor or physician.
  • Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses and coordination of care promptly.
  • Participate in, implement and update the nursing care plan.
  • Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention, and intervene to prevent risk or reduce risk.
  • Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect staff and patient according to OSHA standards.
  • Educate the patient and family about the disease process, self‑care techniques and prevention strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of competencies related to nursing by participating in educational programs, CEUs, internal learning management skill and skill evaluations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
Additional State Specific Requirements
  • South Carolina – One year of pediatrics experience.
  • California – One year of experience under current nursing license.
  • Louisiana – One year of experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Continuing Education as required by state.
Preferences
  • Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting.
  • Home health experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.
