The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the clinical and financial outcomes of designated clinical unit/units. Acts as a representative of the Director of Nursing and Administration and collaborates with the Director of Nursing and Nursing Unit Supervisor to ensure competent, cost‑effective patient care.
Responsibilities- Manage unit/unit operations.
- Manage unit/units personnel activities.
- Assure the acquisition and retention of qualified personnel; develop a professional climate within the nursing units.
- Develop departmental goals consistent with hospital/system strategic plans and operations.
- Maintain current professional growth through independent study, and attending in‑service programs and workshops.
- 3+ years as Charge Nurse, Care Coordinator or Supervisor.
- Documented experience demonstrating leadership, management, communication & interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing;
Registered Nurse license in Texas (or Texas license within 90 days if Compact License). - BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days.
St. David’s Medical Center, part of St. David’s Health Care, is a comprehensive medical facility with three locations:
St. David’s Medical Center, Heart Hospital of Austin, and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.
