American Family Care is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. At American Family Care, you will be part of a growing team providing high quality healthcare to our patients.
Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. We have a moderately-complex lab (that includes hematology and chemistry) and full scope digital x-rays. We are open extended hours (8a-8p on weekdays and 8a-5p on weekends) seven days a week, closed on major holidays.
ResponsibilitiesAt AFC Urgent Care, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) position functions as an advanced practice practitioner and must be able to work as a single provider. Independently exams, diagnoses and decides treatment for patients, including analyzing and interpreting x-rays and lab results, writes prescriptions, takes patients histories, provides surgical assistance, and orders various forms of therapy, all under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Providers must see patients of all ages and be comfortable with minor procedures, handling minor orthopedic injuries and be able to read x-rays. Exposure to occupational medicine is also a plus. Providers must have a clean medical malpractice record, an unrestricted Texas medical license, Federal DEA license, and ACLS certification.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies, or related field
- DOT Certification preferred
- Single Provider: 1 year (Required)
