Purpose:
To serve the Associate Director of Development on Texas Development's GIFT Team, supporting the School of Social Work. Successful candidates will identify and cultivate prospects with capacity of $100,000+ with an emphasis on soliciting gifts of $100,000 and above.
- Maintain understanding of university and School of Social Work priorities, vision, and mission.
- Build and carry an active portfolio of 75-100 prospective donors.
- Engage in qualification, strategy, development, relationship building, and closing of major gifts at $100,000+ for the School of Social Work.
- Consistently produce $2,500,000+ per year.
- Participate in goal setting, proposal preparation, strategy development, and stewardship as required for donors in the portfolio.
- Deliver funding proposals to prospective and current donors.
- Collaborate with faculty, academic leaders, and other development staff to create campus-wide funding opportunities to reach campaign goals.
- Utilize a fundraising database and prospecting tools; maintain timely electronic documentation (engagement activities, proposal tracking, contact reports, donor strategies and forecasting).
- Record timely reports, letters, proposals, orgift agreements following donor contact.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with all University Development Officers to advance university goals.
- Demonstrated ability to execute full-cycle donor strategy.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in major gifts fundraising or related field.
- High degree of emotional intelligence.
- Tenacity and nimbleness; ability to drive results.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications.
- Strategic and creative thinking; ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- Experience with VIP fundraising and CRM systems (Raiser's Edge or similar).
- Ability to travel frequently to visit prospects and donors.
- Discretion, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications- More than the required years of fundraising experience.
- Experience in a large-scale, complex academic research university.
- Knowledge of UT Austin policies and procedures.
$65,000.00
Working Conditions- Typical office environment.
- Frequent travel, overnight stays, and weekend work may be required.
- Must be able to work long hours, evenings, and weekends.
