Director of Development & Communications

Patriots’ Hall | Austin / Dripping Springs, TX

The Director of Development & Communications at Patriots’ Hall is a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader responsible for driving all revenue strategy and external communications for a growing nonprofit.

This role is fundamentally a fundraising leadership position. The ideal candidate brings either direct nonprofit development experience or meaningful experience working closely with fundraising teams within a larger nonprofit environment, and has a strong working knowledge of nonprofit revenue strategy (individual, corporate, foundation, and event-based giving).

Patriots’ Hall operates a robust annual event calendar (8+ fundraising and stewardship events), and this leader will play a central role in maximizing event-based revenue growth.

This position requires a self-starter who can build systems, strategies, and relationships from the ground up—and is equally comfortable making donor asks, writing compelling communications, planning events, and managing execution details.

Military service or experience serving veteran and military communities is highly valued.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position works closely with the Board and community partners to grow revenue, expand awareness, and translate mission into investment.

Compensation: $75,000 + benefits + performance-based bonus opportunity tied to growth goals

Location: This is a full-time hybrid position based in the Austin area. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Dripping Springs, Texas. The role requires full-time, in-office presence for the first six weeks, then a minimum of two in-office days per week thereafter.

  • Write and oversee grant proposals, reports, sponsorship materials, and donor communications.
  • Lead revenue strategy and execution for 7–8 annual fundraising and stewardship events, including sponsorship development, ticket sales strategy, donor cultivation touchpoints, revenue tracking, and post-event stewardship.
  • Manage and leverage CRM data to inform strategy, reporting, and donor engagement.
Marketing & Communications
  • Oversee all marketing and communications efforts, including social media, website content, email newsletters, press releases, and campaign materials.
  • Marketing strategy focused on increasing awareness and engagement with the veteran and military community.
  • Develop a consistent brand voice and storytelling aligned with mission and impact.
