Mission: E4 Youth uses the power of storytelling to unlock equity and opportunity across generations.
We create spaces where communities and emerging creatives can explore identity, build digital literacy, and transform their stories into powerful tools for advocacy, connection, and change.
Through immersive workshops, oral history projects, and interactive experiences, E4 Youth equips participants to be seen, heard, and hired—not only as job seekers, but as cultural innovators and creative entrepreneurs.
Vision: Through the 4 E’s—Engage, Educate, Empower, and Elevate—we develop the next generation of changemakers, artists, technologists, and cultural visionaries who are fluent in both story and strategy.
Position OverviewE4 Youth is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to support institutional fundraising by refining, strengthening, and finalizing grant proposals across operating, programmatic, and capacity-building funding.
Grant opportunities are typically identified, validated, and initially drafted by E4 Youth leadership using internal AI-assisted tools. The grant writer’s role is to elevate these materials into polished, funder-ready submissions, ensuring clarity, compliance, and strategic alignment.
This role is ideal for a grant professional who prefers execution, editorial rigor, and delivery over sourcing or early-stage strategy.
Geographic RequirementGeographic Requirement: This position is open only to candidates who currently live in the Austin, TX metropolitan area (including nearby surrounding communities). We are not able to consider applicants located outside of the Austin area, including other parts of Texas (e.g., Houston, San Antonio) or out of state.
Scope of WorkThe grant writer will:
- Review and strengthen AI-assisted or leadership-drafted proposals
- Tailor provided drafts to specific funder guidelines and priorities
- Refine structure, tone, and narrative flow to improve competitiveness
- Ensure compliance with funder requirements, formatting, and attachments
- Manage revisions efficiently and meet firm submission deadlines
- Finalize proposals for submission, including narratives and supporting materials
E4 Youth uses a modern, systems-driven workflow. The grant writer must be comfortable working within:
- ChatGPT or comparable AI tools for drafting support and refinement
- Hub Spot to track funders, submissions, and follow-up
- Notion as a shared workspace for narratives, timelines, and reference materials
The grant writer should be fluent enough in these tools to work independently and without friction, particularly when collaborating around AI-assisted first drafts.
Qualifications- 5+ years of institutional grant writing experience
- Demonstrated success securing foundation or public funding
- Experience refining drafts created by others or by AI tools
- Strong editing, synthesis, and compliance skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal oversight
- Familiarity with education, youth development, arts/culture, or community-based organizations preferred
- Contract-based (per-proposal or monthly retainer)
- Flexible hours with clear deliverables and deadlines
- Remote-friendly; familiarity with Central Texas funders is a plus
- Direct collaboration with E4 Youth leadership
- High-quality submissions delivered on time
- Minimal revision cycles due to strong initial refinement
- Effective collaboration around AI-assisted drafts
- Increased throughput during a critical growth phase
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience and scope.
