All programs are designed to address the emotional, physical, and social needs of NICU families, helping them feel supported and secure during an intensely stressful time. This early intervention mental health support is available at no cost to NICU families across the United States.

What You’ll DoThis is a full‑time, contract position running approximately four months (start through April 30, 2026), with potential to convert into a permanent, full‑time role based on performance and organizational needs.
The Development Associate will serve as a key liaison for partners and donors while supporting the operational and administrative aspects of the Development department. This role is ideal for someone personable, detail‑oriented, tech‑savvy, and confident managing multiple relationships in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Functions Donor Relationships & Stewardship- Build and maintain relationships with donors, supporting stewardship initiatives to convert engagement into meaningful gifts.
- Process gift entry and acknowledgments accurately, ethically, and confidentially.
- Assist with donor communications, including acknowledgments, recognition, and follow‑ups.
- Serve as a personable representative of Hand to Hold in all donor and sponsor interactions.
- Support initiatives to enhance the overall donor experience.
- Focus on individual donor retention by nurturing relationships and developing strategies to increase loyalty and engagement.
- Support the Development Team with all aspects of a large community fundraising event in April, including planning, logistics, vendor communication, materials preparation, and guest experience.
- Collaborate with Hand to Hold’s internal event planning team and Mueller Scott (contracted event company).
- Track in‑kind donations and ensure sponsor and donor needs are met throughout event planning and execution.
- Research potential event sponsors and support outreach and relationship management.
- Assist with in‑kind donation solicitation and engagement as needed.
- Maintain organized files, SOP documentation, and internal tracking systems.
- Assist with project management and workflow tracking using Neon One, G‑Suite, and
- Maintain and update the donor database (CRM), including data cleanup, tagging, segmentation, and profile management.
- 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, event coordination, CRM administration, or related support roles.
- Strong attention to detail with comfort working in databases and spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrates integrity, discretion, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Desire to grow in nonprofit development and fundraising is strongly preferred.
- Mission‑driven: demonstrates a strong passion for Hand to Hold’s mission and NICU families.
- Open to applicants in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area.

Must be able to access second‑floor office space via stairs (no elevator) multiple times daily or use the first‑floor office space.
