Job Title

Content Marketing Specialist – Boom

About Boom

Boom is on a mission to level the playing field for the 110+ million renters in the US by making housing more flexible, affordable, and rewarding. Boom is building a suite of rental financial services for renters and property managers, including tenant screening, rent payment reporting, rent reporting-as-a-service, and a number of integrations with the largest property management systems (PMS). Boom serves renters through the Boom App and property managers via the Boom Platform.

Now serving thousands of renters, Boom is led by second‑time founders Rob Whiting (ex‑BCG, Rubicon) and Kirill Moizik (Eco, Technion, Grubhub). It’s backed by investors such as Starting Line, Clocktower Ventures, Mischief VC (CEO of Plaid Zach Perret’s fund), Gilgamesh Ventures (Petal co‑founders), and angels such as William Hockey (CEO of Column), founder/former CTO of Plaid, and Harry Stebbings. Boom has been profiled by Inman, Business Insider, Housing Wire, and more.

What

you’ll do
  • SEO‑driven content creation: Write and optimize blog content that targets relevant keywords, supports organic growth, and aligns with product and market priorities
  • Customer stories & case studies: Conduct customer interviews and turn real‑world outcomes into structured case studies and customer‑facing stories
  • Email & lifecycle content: Write marketing emails, newsletters, and campaign copy that support product adoption, feature awareness, and ongoing engagement
  • Product & launch content: Create customer‑facing guides, help content, and launch assets that clearly explain new features and updates
  • Thought leadership: Write long‑form and short‑form thought leadership content that reflects Boom’s point of view on property management, financial services, and the renter lifecycle
  • Press & announcements: Draft press releases and supporting content for company news, partnerships, and product launches
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Partner with product marketing, growth, customer success, and leadership to gather insights, align on messaging, and ensure content accuracy
  • Editorial planning: Contribute to content calendars, briefs, and planning to support consistent output across channels
  • Quality & consistency: Ensure all content is accurate, on‑brand, well‑structured, and detail‑oriented, with a strong editorial standard
What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of professional content writing experience
  • Experience writing B2B and/or SaaS content (blogs, case studies, product content, or lifecycle emails)
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, on‑page optimization, and search intent
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort owning content from draft through final review
  • Ability to translate complex product features and workflows into clear, customer‑friendly language
  • Strong written communication skills with a concise, structured writing style
  • Comfort collaborating cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, evolving startup environment
  • Experience working with content management systems and basic marketing tools
  • Experience in Prop Tech, fintech, or property management is a plus, but not required
Benefits of working at Boom
  • Competitive salary with stock options
  • 15 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year + 3 sick days + all US federal holidays (11 in total) (note: we think unlimited PTO is BS and causes some employees to feel guilty when they take it)
  • Company‑sponsored training & development
  • Regular off‑sites, retreats, and other company‑sponsored events and travel opportunities
