Tesla's 4680 Cell Tabless Team is seeking an Associate Production Manager, you will have the critical task of leading the priorities and strategic tasks of the Production Operations Team. Your experience in a fast-paced production environment as well as strong technical or engineering background will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You are process-focused, hands-on, and have a capacity to prioritize actions strategically to best serve your team and achieve the ambitious production targets of Tesla. Your ability to be decisive and collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and engineering is one of your key strengths for success.

• Ensure safety and conduct policies are prioritized and met among employees
• Build and continuously develop a strong, motivated production team, while mentoring and developing production leadership and their teams
• Coordinate, organize, and manage production activities according to organization needs and plans, work with shift managers and other production supervisors daily to create priorities and actions
• Develop action plans and strategies to achieve production KPIs. Partner with other Cell shops and support teams to deliver results
• Facilitate the development and deployment of standard works whenever a gap is identified
• Apply lean manufacturing practices to deliver the project savings, quality, safety, and productivity improvements aligning with strategic goals
• Work with cross‑functional teams including Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering and Maintenance teams to support on‑going projects

• 5+ years of leading people and teams. Industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering experience preferred
• Can demonstrate ability to perform deadlines and perform under high pressure
• Creatively develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)
• Extensive detailed analysis experience to make data‑driven decisions and summarize results for executives
• Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and 6‑Sigma principles (6‑sigma certification preferred)
• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
• Ability to verbally communicate with the team
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: cleanroom gown, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
