We are looking for a focused and reliable Machine Operator to join our production team and operate lens cutting machinery. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, edging, and finishing optical lenses with precision and efficiency. You’ll help ensure our customers receive high-quality, accurately crafted eyewear by maintaining strict adherence to quality standards and production timelines.
Responsibilities- Operate lens cutting, edging, and finishing machines according to production specifications
- Load lenses into machines and input proper measurements or cutting instructions
- Inspect lenses for defects and imperfections before and after cutting
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machinery and workstation
- Start-up and shut down of machine per scheduled shift
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenance
- Assist with machine troubleshooting and

* * mechanical problems - Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production goals
- Support cross-training and continuous improvement efforts in the lab
- Previous experience operating machinery in a production or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail, especially with small parts or delicate materials
- Ability to follow precise measurements and technical instructions
- Comfortable working with hands and tools for extended periods
- Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity
- Work is performed primarily in an optical laboratory setting
- Environment often fast-paced and deadline oriented
- May work alone in lab as necessary or with partner
- Exposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be caustic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energy
- Will be working primarily with small manual tools (screwdriver, pliers, etc.), lenses, frames, and automated laboratory equipment
- This environment requires:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift)
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to approximately 45 lbs.
- Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
- Must possess excellent finger and manual dexterity, control precision, steady hands/arms
- This role is onsite at ROKA Headquarters;
