SummaryResponsible for the daily cleaning of the manufacturing and general storage areas of the facility. Will be required to disassemble and re-assemble equipment to complete the cleaning process. All parts to remain with the equipment after cleaning process. Will be required to remove waste from the areas and place in the designated containers. Must at all times work in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
Must insure that GMPs, PPE and Safety regulations are followed at all times. Follows all good housekeeping practices, sanitation SOPs and adheres to any USDA guidelines for food/sanitation. Operates Compactors (inedible and corrugated), (understands Hog Farmer, Inedible bin requirements);
May operate pallet jacks.
- Operate and maintain cleaning of manufacturing and storage areas; disassemble/re-assemble equipment as needed; ensure all parts remain with equipment after cleaning.
- Remove waste to designated containers and maintain clean, safe work areas.
- Follow GMPs, PPE, safety regulations, sanitation SOPs, and USDA guidelines for food sanitation.
- Operate compactors (inedible and corrugated); understand Hog Farmer and inedible bin requirements; may operate pallet jacks.
- Understands cleaning processes with moving parts; emphasize safety and quality at all times.
- Do not place any body parts into moving equipment parts; follow proper operating sanitation procedures.
- Understand use and storage of chemicals; follow PPE requirements.
- Demonstrates good mechanical aptitude.
- Evaluation of performance within the first 120 hours of starting the job.
- Must be able to communicate; reading and writing in English preferred (bilingual preferred).
- Stand, reach, bend, and occasionally climb stairs; lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Works well with others; able to meet required demands with minimum supervision.
- Understanding of chemical usage/cleaning.
- Evaluation of performance within the first 120 hours of employment.
While performing duties, team members work around moving machinery and may be exposed to hot/cold/refrigerated conditions, loud noise, and wet/slippery floors. Be aware of surroundings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure product on the floor is squeegeed/scooped and disposed in the correct bin; avoid draining food products, gloves, wraps, and other articles; ensure drain covers are in place; dispose inedible food products in yellow bins and non-food inedible products in gray bins.
- Minimize water use during cleaning to control overspray and cross-contamination; ensure motors/electrical panels/plugs are properly covered.
- Disassemble/assemble equipment for cleaning; ensure all parts stay with equipment and hoses are properly stored.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- Adhere to GMPs and USDA guidelines for food/sanitation.
- Operate controls of equipment and report malfunctions or hazards to supervisor.
- Operate power washers safely and timely.
- Report equipment concerns to supervisor or maintenance team to avoid late start-ups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor.
- Report to workstation with proper PPE on time.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Safety Rules and GMPs, Chemical Products/MSDS;
Safety Training, Chemical Foaming/Power Washer Guides; SSOPs on equipment cleaning and Sanitation Personal Protective Equipment.
