THE ROLEThe Project Management Office (PMO) within AMD’s Data Center GPU (DCGPU) group has an immediate opening for an Engineering Materials and Assets Program Manager. In this role, you will work closely with the NPI Materials Manager and Datacenter management team. You must thrive in a fast‑paced, highly ambiguous environment, have strong organizational skills, a demonstrated capacity for creative problem solving, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work with cross‑functional teams to enable the development of groundbreaking products.
Your contributions will make a pronounced difference to future AMD GPUs for HPC and Machine Learning.
- Prepare scenarios to utilize available materials, systems and equipment to support key program deliverables and customer engagements.
- Identify risks and define mitigation strategies to address them.
- Respond to program challenges resulting from supply issues, engineering/product issues and budget constraints.
- Provide clear and timely communications to multiple stakeholders to enable decision making, ensure cross‑functional alignment and articulate risks and opportunities.
- Manage complex Server and DCGPU Bill of Materials (BOMs) for both customer specific and rest of world.
- Manage Programmable Field Replaceable Unit Code used by engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Work cross‑functionally with all engineering teams (Board Engineering, Packaging, Mechanical, Export Compliance, Returns, and Manufacturing).
- Participate in Core Teams as required.
- Work in multiple time zones, including night calls as required.
- Manage moving material in Agile BOM system from pre‑production to production.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related multi‑disciplinary program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability to deal with rapid development cycles.
- Working knowledge of program management methodologies and supply chain principles.
- Proficient in productivity tools including Microsoft Teams, Excel, Power BI and One Note.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and be a team player.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems, work with ambiguity and be self‑motivated.
- Familiar with implementing and refining new processes.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior ASIC pre‑production materials planning experience.
