What to Expect
As a Production Supervisor, you will have the critical task of managing the priorities, equipment, and people associated with the production line. Your experience in fast-paced production lines where process and equipment development is a key feature will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing both new hires and veteran production staff.
You are very hands-on and prefer to be on the production floor and have proven skills in both process and equipment troubleshooting, allowing you to easily adapt to constantly changing production environments.
- Execute priorities and production plans provided with inputs from operations management and other departments
- Manage, coach, mentor and support up to 60 production associates and manufacturing technicians on shift; the general team size is 26
- Maintain Standardized Manufacturing instructions and verify compliance. Make improvements based on standard work checks
- Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking. Ability to focus on larger problem-solving initiatives (Kaizen)
- Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area
- Generate daily pass downs and quality reports for engineering and operations team
- Monitor and ensure safety standards are met by all employees
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a manufacturing environment with semi-automated machinery
- 3+ years managing or supervising teams of people in a high-volume production environment
- Experience supporting process development and project execution (project management)
- Ability to read and interpret process data to make decisions (ex. Process controls charts) with a mechanical aptitude preferred
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Ability to work any shift based off business needs (ex. Days or nights AWS)
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
- Ability to verbally communicate with the team
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
