Position ObjectiveThe Material Control Specialist I ensures proper handling, storage, and transport of raw materials inventory and in‑process product. The Material Control Specialist I maintains transactional inventory accuracy and performs stock rotations in accordance with standard operating procedures. Responsible for daily tasks within warehouse areas.
Responsibilities- Data entry of all SAP and Max transactions in the receiving and movement of raw material
- Pull all needed raw and in‑process materials required by the company in a timely manner
- Utilize FEFO/FIFO practices
- Assure compliance to all standard operating procedures
- Keep work areas in an organized and orderly fashion, storing materials to preserve their integrity
- Maintain the accuracy of the inventory through periodic physical counting of the stock
- Assist as needed with material returns in accordance with company Quality, Purchasing, Financial, and Manufacturing standards
- Ensure expired materials are removed from inventory
- Timely transfer of needed materials for production and documents to storage
- Operation of material handling equipment
- Driving of company vehicles
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of SAP/MAX or other material management software preferred; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) & Microsoft Outlook; ability to work well in a team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to lift 40 pounds
- Forklift certification preferred; on‑site training available
- Must meet requirements to be an authorized driver of company insured vehicles
