What To Expect
Tesla’s Cathode Materials Team is seeking a Maintenance Planner who will be tasked with writing work orders based on field diagnosis and inspection, managing administrative duties, generating weekly and monthly reports, investigating and preparing work orders for execution, and conducting root cause analysis of early failures. The scope includes all technologies employed and assigning work to maintenance technicians and the team within our Cell Materials team.
Designated areas of the facility will require you to wear proper personal protective equipment such as a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR).
What You’ll Do
- Managing workload – prioritizing work and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Evaluating work orders for assignment and collecting parts, tools and time required for repair.
- Cross‑discipline collaboration to ensure proper work order repairs are applied the first time.
- Systematic inspection of core systems along with work order creation to prevent failure.
- Interface with various layers of leadership, highlighting status of PM/Work Order system and current priority of repairs.
- Auditing PM execution and accuracy, creating work orders based upon PM findings.
- Generating the daily maintenance plan for review and allocation based upon current shop condition, determined by manager in consultation with shift supervisor.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment, supporting maintenance organizations in developing and executing detailed job plans.
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Open‑minded self‑starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem‑solve, with demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Navisworks, and Hexagon is a plus.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance; proactive, motivated self‑starter.
- Excellent communication skills and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, and executives. Data analysis and risk‑based decision‑making skill. Lean manufacturing knowledge.
- Command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
- Frequently and repetitively lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs.
- Frequently and repetitively bend, lift and reach.
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures.
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adherence to prescribed safety rules and guidelines.

Austin, TX – $90,000.00–$ per year.
