Overview
We are hiring a Director of Sales (DOS) to lead the sales strategy for our upscale hotel – Renaissance Austin Downtown. The property features 367 rooms and over 40,000 square feet of versatile event space, near the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Capitol.
As the DOS, you will drive revenue growth by leading a high-performing sales team, cultivating strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and executing strategic sales and marketing plans. We seek a dynamic leader who coaches and mentors teams and identifies new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team to exceed revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, local businesses, university contacts, and hotel ownership.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to attract group, corporate, leisure, and catering business.
- Cultivate Business Travel relationships.
- Analyze market trends, performance data, and competitor insights to identify opportunities for growth.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to increase brand awareness.
- Weekly and monthly presentations to ownership and executive leaders.
Ideal Candidate
- Dynamic, hands-on leader with high energy who leads by example and can cultivate a positive, engaging, fun and performance-driven work environment.
- Proven ability to boost team productivity and deliver measurable results through coaching and active engagement.
- Accountability Champion with history of setting clear performance standards and ensuring follow-through on team goals.
- Marriott systems expert with deep knowledge of Marriott platforms and tools to maximize travel opportunities, including GDS and Consortia programs, driving strategic account growth and market share.
- Sophisticated, data-driven professional who can interpret complex data and deliver polished presentations to owners and corporate leadership; able to develop actionable strategies from insights.
- Forecasting and market analysis expertise with strong understanding of demand trends to develop strategy.
