Director of Operations

This role will own day-to-day execution and operational performance across a media business with a top 10 podcast
. This role exists to bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a high-velocity environment—without dampening creativity.

The Director of Ops is the execution owner
: translating vision into action, clarifying ownership, and ensuring the business runs smoothly without constant founder involvement. This role is designed with a clear growth path for the right candidate.

• Own operational execution across the business, with primary focus on the podcast/show as the core engine
• Translate executive priorities into clear plans, timelines, and ownership
• Define and enforce roles, responsibilities, and operating processes across the team
• Eliminate ambiguity around ownership, decisions, and accountability
• Address underperformance quickly and professionally, including clear consequences
• Provide light HR leadership including hiring support, onboarding, performance management, and terminations
• Manage vendors, contractors, and operational partners in coordination with finance and legal
• Establish operating rhythms, reporting, and performance standards
• Normalize professionalism and execution discipline while protecting creative output
• Escalate issues appropriately with clear context and recommended actions

• 5+ years in operations leadership roles
• Experience in media, content, creator-led, or fast-growth environments preferred
• Strong execution bias with exceptional follow-through
• Comfortable working with high-profile talent and strong personalities
• Detail-oriented, decisive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity
• This is not a 9–5 role; flexibility and global availability are required

Location: Austin, TX (not remote)

Compensation: Competitive base (depending on experience) + Performance-based bonus
