WHO YOU ARE:
We are looking for a project manager in TWC’s Division of Information Innovation and Insight (I|3). The division supports the agency’s mission by leveraging data to improve decision-making and service efficiency. That is, we leverage Data for Prosperity.
The project manager will facilitate and coordinate project meetings, identify overall project scope, while working closely with Business Analysts to understand report requirements within each project. The project manager will create, maintain, and analyze Risks, Activities, Issues, and Decisions (RAID) through each project life cycle, as well as develop schedules, work plans, and resource requirements for I|3 projects.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starting, motivated, and collaborative problem solver who understands the value of teamwork, critical thinking, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and data analysis to assist in management of TWC programs.
Candidates must be enthusiastic about working collaboratively with teammates, TWC staff, and other state agency staff to deliver accurate information on deadline to a wide variety of stakeholders, including other State Agencies and Local Workforce Development Areas (LWDA).
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Project Manager III performs complex (journey-level) project management work. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitoring the progress and schedule of projects; and communicating with project stakeholders, management and other relevant parties. May assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Manage, develop, oversee and evaluate projects using accepted project management methodologies.
-Initiate projects, obtain authorization and commitment, and demonstrate business need and project feasibility.
-Review projects and make recommendations for efficiency to management.
-Monitor and manage project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable, on schedule, and fulfill the terms of the project specifications
-Identify potential project risks and difficulties and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
-Plan and manage efficient project meetings.
-Compile and distribute project information and status reports.
-Communicates project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members
-Assist with developing criteria for evaluating programs, proposals and other pertinent information related to project assignments.
-May develop project schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and cost estimates and projections.
-May assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff.
-Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and agency laws, rules, policies, and procedures that govern TWC I|3.
-Perform other duties as assigned to maintain I|3 operations.
