Description
Amazon is seeking a Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the execution of new build infrastructure and expansion/retrofit projects within our Global Engineering, Maintenance, & Sustainability (GEMS) Organization. The role leads a team of support personnel, manages medium‑to‑large capital projects with accelerated schedules, and coordinates multiple vendors across all organizational levels. You will drive standardization, maintain timelines, stay within budget, and ensure critical business initiatives are delivered on time.

This role requires up to 80% nationwide travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with other program managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive delivery.
  • Own program communication, accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), and escalating as appropriate.
  • Influence design and development of strategic processes.
  • Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and govern the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or sub‑task.
  • Provide accountability while reporting on status, asking for help, and immediately escalating issues and problems as necessary.
  • Maintain the overall project schedule to enable teams to succeed based on milestones and Go‑Live dates.

  • Travel to location (Uber, Airport, Rental Car) / 3PL Schedule Review Meeting / Emails / PO Approval / Inventory Tracking

Tuesday

  • Stakeholder Weekly Meeting / Site Walk / Budget Report / Meetings / Project Incentive Work

Wednesday

  • Safety Walk / Order Review with Procurement / Non‑Inventory Review with Site 3PL / Risk Management / PMO Reporting

Thursday

  • Travel to home (Uber, Airport, Rental Car) / Emails / Meetings / Invoice Approvals / Risk Review / Safety Reporting

Friday

  • Update Project Health Tracker / File Travel Expenses / Book Travel 3 Weeks Out / Document Lessons Learned / Team Meeting / One‑on‑One / Project Meetings / Update Travel Calendar

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of driving end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Compensation for this position ranges from $66,800 to $142,800 per year, depending on market location. Additional compensation such as equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits may be provided. Budget is posted until the position is filled.
