OpportunityAs the Field Project Superintendent, you will direct and coordinate the activities of designated projects under the Project Manager’s direction, ensuring that the goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters. The role requires a detail‑ and customer‑service‑oriented individual with excellent organizational skills, a high‑energy, team‑oriented, profit‑driven attitude, and the ability to maintain a sense of urgency while communicating professionally and effectively with sales teams, customers, and manufacturers.
Responsibilities- Provides daily on‑site work direction to subcontractors, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary.
- Under the direction of the Project Manager, manages and executes turnkey projects, controlling installations from start to successful completion—including compliance with plans and specifications, safety, scope, budget, on‑time delivery, materials procurement, billing, and collection.
- With the Project Manager, understands plans and specifications for assigned projects and alerts the Project Manager of potential RFI based on drawing and specification reviews and site conditions.
- Coordinates required resources to ensure tasks are completed accurately, on time, and within contract scope, and communicates any issues, barriers, or concerns to the Project Manager.
- Evaluates contractual scope of work and actively communicates opportunities for additional work to the Project Manager.
- Communicates technical and business‑related issues with customers, reviewing labor and material cost plans and specifications for work performance.
- Reviews equipment selections and submittals, ensuring all meet contract requirements, and coordinates equipment/material deliveries, inspecting upon delivery and reporting damage immediately.
- Schedules procurement of equipment and materials for assigned projects and coordinates all subcontractor work from outside vendors, including mechanical, controls, and electrical subcontractors, ensuring scope compliance.
- Represents Texas Air Systems as a primary on‑site leader for execution of assigned projects and maintains long‑term relationships with contractors, customers, consultants, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Manages risk, establishes project recovery plans when required, resolves disputes with minimal escalation, and ensures project documentation follows contract requirements and standards.
- Ensures control technicians complete device verification and commissioning of all system controllers, validates system functionality, troubleshoots problems with subcontractors, and reviews as‑built and commissioning documentation.
- Utilizes project management software to punch assigned projects and coordinate subcontractors to complete required punch list items; participates in GC and owner punch walks.
- Administers warranty processes, evaluates warranty requests, and coordinates resources to resolve warranty claims.
- Provides continued training to customers and owners, assists with system troubleshooting after project closeout, and ensures all personnel adhere to safety standards including OSHA requirements.
- May oversee multiple projects, walk job sites as needed, protect and mitigate liability, and support company safety training and programs.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical material to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and to write correspondence effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
- Problem‑solving skills, prioritization of multiple tasks, and mental stamina for sustained focus.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC, controls installation, and construction environments.
