Custodian
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
Roles & Responsibilities- Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
- Perform hazardous waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
- Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Communicate with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers professionally.
- Fill in during staff shortages.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use proper personal protective equipment.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and the environment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job safely.
- No specific education requirement; 3–6 months of training or experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May be required to hold a valid driver’s license, complete all safety and task training certifications, and may need forklift certification.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team.
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- Frequent sitting and talking or listening. Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
$17.77 per hour, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Tuesday–Saturday, Sunday–Thursday.
