- Set up and operate all welding equipment.
- Interpret and follow diagrams and prints to fabricate, modify and repair steel parts and steel structures.
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., overhead crane, forklift and iron working machines) in performing construction and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain tools, equipment and facilities for assigned work area.
- Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
- Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments
- One or more years of experience in welding and steel fabrication, or other relevant experience. Certification(s) or degree(s) in welding, steel fabrication or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Certificationedal of a recognized welding institution
- Experience working in a utility or infrastructure environment
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
