Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $15 Per hour
We are seeking a responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our team at a preschool. The Day Porter plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for young children and staff throughout the day.
Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, kitchen and common areas
- Monitor and restock supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks and report major issues to the supervisor
- Support staff with immediate cleanup needs (e.g., spills, accidents)
- Empty trash and recycling throughout the day
- Ensure outdoor play areas are tidy and safe and use of power washer to clean tables 2 to 3x a week
- Follow all health and safety protocols, especially those related to childcare environments
- Respond promptly to requests from staff regarding cleanliness and safety
- Power wash outside area on eating tables (2-3x per week or as needed)
- High Traffic areas are to be continuously monitored and picked up throughout the day for removal of litter
- Event preparation and takedown (organizing classrooms/gym/outside area for events 2-3 day’s events per week)
- Follow Day Porter Scope of work provided upon employment (as needed or assigned)
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Friendly and professional demeanor
- Must pass background check and meet any state/local requirements for working in a childcare facility
