Maintenance Technician – Howard University Hospital
We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities running smoothly and provide top‑quality service to our residents.
What You Will Do- Complete maintenance requests quickly and efficiently, handling tasks like electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and painting.
- Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC systems to keep residents comfortable year‑round.
- Fix showers, sinks, appliances, doors, cabinets, walls, and building exteriors.
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance to avoid issues.
- Handle minor pool maintenance and keep community pools clean and safe.
- Monitor outside vendors and contractors to ensure quality work.
- Assist with light landscaping, trash pickup, and sidewalk cleaning.
- Prepare units for new residents by completing necessary repairs.
- Report safety issues promptly and follow all safety regulations.
- Help with special projects and additional maintenance tasks as needed.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, masonry, and carpentry.
- Experience with HVAC maintenance.
- Professional communication skills.
- Reliability and flexibility for emergency repairs, weekends, and evenings if required.
- Physical ability to climb up to 40 feet, lift heavy items, and distinguish colors.
- Collaborative attitude and teamwork.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in facility maintenance.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
