Field Technician II | HVJ Associates®

The mission of a CoMET Field Technician for HVJ Construction Material Department is to support the project manager or other staff as directed to assure client satisfaction following the applicable standards, specifications and company guidelines. HVJ is proud to assist with additional training for certifications.

• Perform testing and/or inspection as assigned with minimum supervision.
• Document work performed as appropriate.
• Provide support to Project Manager as directed.
• Deliverables provided per schedule agreed with client.
• Perform duties in a safe, cheerful, efficient and workmanlike manner.
• Acquire additional skills/certifications as needed.

• High School Diploma
• Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples up to 50 lbs.
• Capacity to tolerate year‑round outdoor work.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally, tolerate shift work and sometimes stay overnight.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a relatively clean record.
• 1‑2 years of related experience preferred.
• ACI or Nuclear Gauge certification preferred.
• Ability to acquire related certifications as needed.

NICET, SB101, SB102, PTI Level 1 & 2

• Frequent sitting, talking or hearing and use a computer with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift and/or move concrete, soil, or asphalt samples up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, drive, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
