Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Austin, Texas area, specifically on IH35.

• Perform maintenance operations in the Austin area on IH35, including debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, concrete placement, and repairs as required.
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

• 0-2 years of related experience in guardrail installation and repair

• MOT Certifications (traffic control)

Clean driving record is essential; must pass criminal background check.

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smartphone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly and other strenuous manual labor
• Ability to operate hand/power tools
• Experience operating Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Forklift, Asphalt Roller, etc. (as relevant to role)

Full time;
Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm, with some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events. Will be placed on an on-call schedule.

Day shift starting rate of $18.50/hr with no prior highway maintenance experience.
Guardrail experience starting rate of $19.50/hr.
Night shift starting rate of $19.50/hr.
CDL Drivers rate of $24.00/hr higher pay rates may be offered with skills, certifications, and/or experience in construction.
