We’re looking to add a Real Estate Transaction and Development Legal Assistant / Paralegal to our dynamic, growing practice in a full‑time capacity. This position can become hybrid following an initial onboarding and training period.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role supporting our attorneys across a wide range of real estate matters including specifically substantive legal work in connection with Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs). The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, thrives in a collaborative environment while managing their tasks with timeliness, accuracy and professionalism. This specific role collaborates closely with attorneys, consultants, and others to deliver legal services of the highest caliber, while contributing to the overall efficiency of the firm’s team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with purchase and sale transactions, title and survey review, and condominium and homeowner’s association matters
  • Communicate professionally with clients by phone and email, coordinate document execution, and handle notarization and recording
  • Prepare and distribute meeting materials, including agendas, meeting packets, and minutes
  • Post and circulate legal notices and agendas in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Support attorneys on transactions by compiling materials and exhibits used
  • Manage statutory filings, including with Texas Secretary of State, Texas Comptroller, Attorney General, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
  • Serve as records management officer, ensuring all district files meet retention and compliance standards
  • Conduct legal research and draft supporting documents under attorney supervision
  • Maintain positive key relationships through professional communication and responsive service
  • Track time, manage local projects, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Occasionally travel to client sites to support attorneys with real estate and district matters
  • Understand and adhere to all Firm policies and procedures
  • Versatile: Responds effectively to shifting priorities and client needs
  • Cross‑Functional: Works seamlessly with attorneys, staff, clients, and external partners
  • Articulate: Delivers clear, professional written and verbal correspondence
  • Efficient: Prioritizes multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Resourceful: Proactively identifies, and takes ownership of, tasks without waiting for direction
Qualifications
  • Degree in Paralegal Studies, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience demonstrating paralegal‑level skills preferred
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from college or technical school
  • 3–5 years of experience as a real estate legal assistant or paralegal, ideally in Texas
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Strong document‑editing skills: redlining, formatting, and editing in Word; modifying PDFs
  • Excellent organization and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Self‑directed, proactive, and detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving instincts requiring minimal oversight
  • Clear and professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Texas Notary Public (or willingness to become one)

Salary consideration begins at $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
