Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Paralegal specializing in Probate & Estate Planning, located in Austin, TX. The candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently.

Focus of Role

Under the direct supervision of an attorney, the duties of this position include:

  • Initiating and handling probate cases or other proceedings concerning the administration of estates/trusts, from inception to conclusion.
  • Preparing asset lists and required probate inventories, analyzing bank and business records, identifying trust and estate assets, and identifying title and character of assets.
  • Meeting and communicating with clients and client advisors.
  • Assisting clients with trust and estate funding issues and preparing documents to facilitate same, recordation of deeds with accompanying transfer documents.
  • Maintaining client files and preparing materials for client meetings.
  • Litigation support, including preparation of discovery.
  • Calendaring critical deadlines and meetings on calendar system.
  • Assisting in the drafting of estate planning and trust administration documents.
Qualifications
  • Law and legal document preparation skills
  • Strong research and document review skills
  • Enthusiastic and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Previous experience in probate or estate planning, or accounting/financial services with trusts and estates experience
  • Paralegal certification or relevant experience in the legal field
  • Bachelors of Arts in the humanities/social sciences
