Who We Are Looking For
A Vice President and Senior Counsel will generally have at least 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. The role requires ultimate responsibility for the delivery of quality Legal Administration services to assigned clients, independent management of client relationships, and minimum management direction from the Department Head. Candidates must be experts in 1940 Act issues and possess a highly developed understanding of legal, business, distribution, marketing, and structural issues facing mutual fund clients.
LocationThis role can be located in Sacramento, Irvine, Austin, Kansas City, or Berwyn.

What You Will Be Responsible For- Stay current with legal developments, communicate such developments to clients, and proactively apply them to client situations.
- Serve as a mentor or developer for less experienced colleagues.
- Lead resolution of complex client or internal legal issues, including matters with potential liability to State Street.
- Provide support to sales professionals and financial administration personnel, make presentations to potential clients, and research and prepare memoranda on general industry issues.
- Offer effective legal support to the Financial Administration Department and/or Transfer Agency group on contractual, operational, compliance, and other issues.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaboration and respect for other department members.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Independent handling of complex projects and multiple priorities for multiple clients.
- Establishment of close working relationships with clients and provision of excellent service with minimal supervision.
- Mastery of relevant statutes and rules.
- Exceptional issue spotting, diagnostic problem‑solving, and business and legal judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and independent follow‑through on issues and tasks.
- Adaptability in changing and conflicting situations.
- Effective delegation of assignments.
- Efficient utilization of resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- JD required.
- 10 years of experience.
$120,000 - $202,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the primary location specified; if the candidate works outside this location, the applicable range could differ.
