An elite Texas-based appellate boutique law firm is seeking a Legal Secretary to support several attorneys. They focus on high-stakes appellate litigation and complex legal issues, often stepping in after trial or partnering with major firms on appeals. The firm is highly regarded statewide, Chambers-ranked for Appellate Litigation, and includes former judges and Texas Supreme Court justices.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, revise, and manage a wide range of legal documents with precision using the firm’s document management system.
- E-file documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all procedural rules.
- Format and generate tables of contents and authorities for briefs.
- Create e-briefs with hyperlinks and bookmarks.
- Support general office administration in maintaining a professional and functional environment.
- Assist with basic technical troubleshooting in coordination with the Firm Administrator and IT.
- Manage docket calendaring, handle incoming/outgoing mail, and occasionally answer phones.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative office culture.
- Assist other legal admin with their workload overflow
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a legal assistant; appellate experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and filing procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience working with iManage or similar DMS.
