A respected law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Associate to join its expanding practice. This role is ideal for an attorney interested in representing secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, and financial institutions in complex bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

The Opportunity:

The associate will focus on creditors’ rights and insolvency-related litigation, working closely with experienced attorneys on matters involving loan enforcement, workouts, restructurings, and bankruptcy proceedings. Attorneys are given early responsibility, meaningful client exposure, and strong mentorship in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and bankruptcy court filings
  • Handle stay relief motions, claim objections, and adversary proceedings
  • Assist with loan enforcement, workouts, and foreclosure-related matters
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
  • Participate in hearings, negotiations, and mediations
  • Communicate directly with clients, lenders, and opposing counsel
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditors’ rights experience
  • JD from a strong, well-regarded law school
  • Experience representing creditors, lenders, or financial institutions preferred
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy court procedures and local rules
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced practice
